While freelancing for MOD Beverage, I was introduced to Spectrum Beer, a brand with some of the most fun and unexpected flavour concepts I have ever worked with. I got to taste many of the beers firsthand while working from their office, and with brewer Evan Doan dreaming up creations like Birthday Cake Ale and Mint Chocolate Ale, it really did feel like watching a mad scientist at work.
Designing for Spectrum was such an creative challenge because each new beer came with its own flavour, personality, and colour story. I also got to lean hard into metallic foil for this brand, more than almost any other project, which made the packaging feel even more bold and playful. I also had the opportunity to design several multipacks, including the wonderfully weird Box of Chocolates and Barista Box, both filled with some very unexpected beer flavours!
