This project was for Bonnie’s second novel, and I was so excited to have the chance to work together again. Clia’s storyline felt so different from our first book, weaving magic into a thrilling world of priestesses. Bonnie’s vision was filled with starry skies, wolfish eyes, and an overall darker mood, which instantly pulled me in. I had always wanted to explore more of this dark and dreamy aesthetic, so I was completely tuned into this one.
I also remember starting this project just a few weeks into my first pregnancy, which makes it feel even more memorable to look back on. In the end, we created a cover that feels rich, atmospheric, and full of narrative, drawing readers into Clia’s world of stars and flames.
